Whittaker, Swansea
Robert Whittaker was landlord of the Bellevue Vaults in Nelson Street, Swansea, advert below placed in 1908-09. An advert in 1918 lists "Argyle Bottling Store, Argyle Street, Swansea, R. Whittaker, Proprietor" The Argyle Bottle Stores had once been the property of J.H.Jenkins in the early 1900s. There is another link between Whittaker and J.H. Jenkins, Whittaker had taken over the Exeter Hotel, Oxford Street after Jenkins's death in the early 1900s. The Exeter Hotle stood on the corner of Oxford Street and Union Street.
