Robert Whittaker (born Lancashire 1857,) Bottler Swansea,
The first instance of a Robert Whittaker I can find is in a 1901 Directory,
he is listed as
"Prince of Wales Hotel High St. R. Whittaker , proprietor",
however a Trade Directory for 1908 and 1912 lists him as
"R. Whittaker Proprietor, Argyle Bottling Stores, Argyle St. Swansea",
It appears he bought J.H. Jenkins out at some time before 1907, I have
a beer bottle from Whittaker stating,
"R. Whittaker, Late Jenkins, Argyle Stores, Swansea"
In Purriers Directory of 1908-09 he is listed as Proprietor of the Park
Hotel, and also the Proprietor of J.H. Jenkins bottling Stores at 12 Richards
Terrace, which seems to be the stores for Jenkins store in Argyle Street.
